From the Baker Campaign:

Brighton– Today, Charlie Baker called for officials to provide greater transparency for the status of all project milestones now that the Health Connector board announced it will go forward with a state-based website. Reports revealed state officials knew the failed Connector site was not ready yet launched the site anyway last year despite pre-existing reporting requirements.
“I care deeply about protecting Massachusetts’ health care system and in order to prevent history from repeating itself, the Connector Board must prove every aspect of the new site is ready to go before launching,” said Charlie Baker. “To restore confidence in Massachusetts health care, the public deserves a clear understanding that the new site will work, how and when it will work, and how the board plans to address the issues that have plagued the Connector thus far. Massachusetts residents deserve access to quality affordable healthcare, and taxpayers should no longer expect to pay for these repeat failures.”
Background:

State officials knew the Connector site was not operational, yet launched the site anyway. “The Microsoft report reveals that in testing done Sept. 9-10, 2013, weeks before the Oct. 1 launch date, only 11 of 52 ‘conditions of readiness’ were deemed satisfactory. The rest were either partial or missing.” (Shira Schoenberg, “New Microsoft report critical of management, technology of Massachusetts Health Connector website,” The Springfield Republican, 3/20/14)
