Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is now a huge hub for JetBlue to connect to other destinations.  fllseats22mayCurrently JetBlue has 21.8% of the market at FLL and is projected to be at 25% by the end of the year.     This week, July 9th, they formally announced a new flight between Pittsburgh and Fort Lauderdale starting October 29th.  Almost a 4 month notice.  Please note attached article.

It takes about 4 months for an airline like JetBlue, that is already in a market (ORH), to add another destination and the ensure that the first flights are full.   I can not see JetBlue wanting to add additional service to Worcester anytime later then December 1st to take advantage of our peak season (winter).

If we are to get additional service, we need this announcement August 1st.  Stretching it, maybe we can say Labor Day.   I think it is safe to say that if we do not hear anything by Labor Day, we will not be seeing any additional service from JetBlue this winter season out of ORH.

Azul plans to introduce flights from its largest base Campinas, near Sao Paulo, to Fort Lauderdale and Orlando in Dec-2014 followed by CampinasJFK in Jul-2015.   These three destinations are three of JetBlue biggest locations and focus cities.  Remember Azul is run by former JetBlue boss, Dave Neeleman.   This would be a perfect merger!!
