Although it finally got its first tenant when an existing neighbor, Absolute Machinery expanded, there are five remaining parcels with an assessed value in excess of $2,000,ooo that encompasses approximately 400,000 square feet:
- 65 Armory Street
- 49 Canterbury Street
- 26 Southgate Place
- 25 Southgate Street
- 0 Southgate Street
The hope twenty years ago, when this was conceived, was that this Industrial Park would bring jobs and add to the Commercial Tax Base. Again, other that the recent development with Absolute Machinery there are no taxes paid on any of these parcels. Yes, there has been investment back into the local area after Absolute Machinery got Richmond dock doors and other equipment installed into their buildings. But other than that, it hasn’t been as much of an impact as people hoped.
Not sure how to even make a guess on this one??
