One of two foster children placed in an Auburn home has died, the second child remains hospitalized.
AUBURN— One foster child placed in an Auburn home has died, and a second child remains hospitalized, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette is reporting. The Worcester County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the incident. Authorities have not specified what happened to the children.
It was reported earlier that two children, approximately 2 years old, were taken from the home at 2 Pheasant Court by ambulance. The state Department of Children and Families confirmed that foster children had been placed in that home.
Neighbors told the Telegram that at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon, the foster mother was heard screaming, “My babies are unresponsive.” Shortly after an ambulance took the two children to the hospital.
The paper reported that six children lived in the home; three are biological children of the foster mother, one adopted child and two foster children. The youngest is approximately six months old.
According to neighbors, the foster mother lives with her boyfriend in the apartment.
