Here is a great report done by the Town of Auburn concerning their options with Pakachoag. We have been told that the Town of Auburn will be deciding soon whether or not they will a) put the course out to bid again or b) take over management of the club themselves. This year is the last year of a 10 year contract with Johnson Golf Management who paying $36,000 per year payment to the Town of Auburn.
We do, however, find the theory that more golf carts will automatically increase profits as being suspect. There is only so much demand that course has for carts. Just because you double the number of carts does not necessarily mean you double cart revenues since they may in fact not be used. It will be interesting to watch what Auburn decides. We are most curious to see how large the upfront costs would be to take over management.
