I’m in my late 50’s,proud I’ve lived this long. At 18 I didn’t think I’d see 25,at 25 I knew 30 was a dream. At 35 I began to think that I might just see 50. My days of live hard leave a good looking corpse are long past.

Yesterday I heard Zane is leaving One Direction, if you put a gun to my head and said “pick out Zane in this picture” my brains would be on the wall. Ask any 15 to 25 year old and it wouldn’t be hard at all.

So I think were the “great bands” I grew up loving really great or just popular. Was Dylan really great? Neil Young? The Who? Dare I say “The Beatles”? Depends on who you ask I think 35 to 70 no question, they are Gods. The 15 to 25 crowd, music their parents loved.

I remember my Mother and friends listening to Readers Digest music they ordered in the mail and singing along to” Drinking rum and Coca-Cola” and me and my younger brother laughing at “that old music from the 40’s”…….only 20 years before. We idealize bands from 40 years ago.

So my original question is asked” what is great? ” I guess the real answer is who you ask.
