- The New England Revolution is, according to reports since Sunday, very close (if not already completed) to re-signing former forward Juan Agudelo. Reports last night indicated he will sign a contract for 4 years, through 2018. Despite being born in Colombia, he has represented USA at every level, including the senior team (18 games 2 goals). He scored 7 goals in 14 games for the Revs in 2013. He signed with EPL Stoke City during that fall, but failed to obtain a work permit. He was then loaned out to Holland’s FC Utrecht for the spring time of 2014, scoring 3 goals in 14 games. During the summer he again failed to obtain a work permit and was released by Stoke. Despite being linked to multiple teams, he never did sign with anyone and has been a free agent since.
- With the possible signing of Juan Agudelo, today the two big sports news papers in Portugal both reporting that Revs target Heldon Ramos, who was linked with a loan move to New England (Revs and Sporting CP sign a partnership last summer).
