With special guest artist, Mayeli Burguete from Mexico
Mayeli Burguete, also known as the “Angel of Swing,” is a Mexican singer, born in Hermosillo Sonora, Mexico. From an early age Mayeli demonstrated true talent and a deep interest in music. Mayeli has gone on to receive numerous awards as a member of the Barandela Big Band in Mexico. In 2013, she was given the “Voice of the Year” award by the National Chamber of Women (Canadem).

The “Angel of Swing” Big Band with Barandela presents both original music and themes that have earned a gold status and marked the Big Band Era from the 20’s to the 50’s. Burguete performs jazz, blues, jump blues, and doo wop — in Spanish and English — featuring fresh new arrangements, bringing a modern sensibility to the Big Band style. She has recorded 3 CDs: “Barandela Big Band: The New Generation of Big Bands,” “Viva Swing,” and “I’m Your Connection.” The band is currently recording their newest album, “Rockabilly Swing.”
