In the past, JetBlue would allow you to call and ask for a credit if the fare dropped after you purchased a ticket.
There has been a change to this policy effective August 14th
- You can still do it, but you have 14 days after you purchase the ticket to call and have a credit issued if you the fare drops without any fee.
- After 14 days, you can still call for a credit but it costs $75. If you were to buy a round trip ticket that costs $400 and a month later the fare drops to $350, for example, a $50 credit would not make sense since it would cost $75.
- The 14 days starts over again every time you get your ticket. If you were to buy a ticket that costs $400 and see the price drops to $350 within 14 days, for example, you can call to get a $50. You have 14 days again to watch for if fare drops for free.
Going forward with the departure of Barger, you will see more fees. Nothing like Spirit, but more fees are coming from JetBlue.
