Earlier in the week, we heard that a deal was imminent when the Governors of Massachusetts and New Hampshire got involved. Still no deal, what happened??? As we mentioned on August 15th, we do not see these two parties ever coming to an agreement.
Lets take a break and look at two words.
- “majority” This word means that if you are a majority owner in a corporation, you have all the power and you can fire and/or hire anyone you want. That is business and exactly why the value of a majority owner, who owns 50.1 % of a corporation, is worth a hell of alot more then the other owner or owners that controls the other 49.90%.
- “private” as opposed to public. This means the shareholders in a private corporation do not have to answer to you or more…
We think it is great how involved the public has become in Market Basket, but we only wish that the public/electorate got involved in public issues with the zeal…. In the end, the only way we see this getting resolved is for an outside party to come in and buy this private corporation out.
Parent company of Hannaford supermarkets has continued to express interest in buying #MarketBasket http://t.co/hb2gOcqigh
