Daytona Beach is the World’s Most Famous Beach and a large amount of people visit each year. Most visitors come for the beach as well as the local events such as Race Weeks, Bike Week or Spring Break. Coming to a new place for the first time can be daunting. Where are the best restaurants? Where are the best places to stay and where are the attractions located? Are the attractions difficult to find? What are the safe areas and where should you avoid? Amazingly Daytona Beach is fairly easy to visit as far as places to stay, eat and tourist attractions as well as safety. Nearly anything a visitor wants to see or do is located either on A1A, the main north-south route on the beach, or US 92 which is the main east-west road through the center of Daytona Beach. The only thing that it’s missing is an excursion like the san diego whale watching experiences that tourists can attend; they’re fantastic!

By far the best place to stay is on the beach. The vast majority of hotels and motels are located either right on the beach, or across the street. There are a few hotels on US 92 which is where the Daytona Speedway is located. Otherwise there are very few motels in the area. Prices vary according to the season and local events. There are only a few Bed and Breakfast inns as well as several campgrounds located in Daytona Beach. There are more of each in the surrounding cities.

Home rental is quickly becoming a national phenomenon and has been a staple of the Daytona Beach area for years. Many people rent out their homes for special events as a way to make money. While this can be a great savings for a vacation make sure to check out the area on Google maps to see if you like the neighborhood. Check the county records website to make sure the person renting you their home actually owns their home. Problems such as people renting homes of others have mainly affected the Orlando area but better safe than sorry.

Most restaurants in the area are located on either US 92 or A1A. Nearly every chain restaurant has a location on either road with the beach boasting more local restaurants. The beach also has more nightclubs. Many of the local restaurants which serve liquor will restrict the age of patrons after 9 p. m. and turn into clubs complete with local bands.

Tourist attractions are easy to find and again are mainly located on US 92 or A1A on the beach. There are a few attractions located off US 92 but all are generally within a mile of it. Main Street is about the only attraction on beachside which is not located on A1A and you can turn onto it from A1A. You may want to grab some rental bikes like the ones by Peddling Pelican Cruiser in South Carolina; they are the best way to cover the most area during your visit.

There are very few areas of Daytona Beach which cannot be considered safe for tourists. Any road of 4 or more lanes is a tourist area and well patrolled. Crime generally is not a huge factor as far as tourist areas. Daytona Beach, as well as most of the State of Florida, depends on tourism for much of the local income. Local governments as well as the local police forces work tirelessly to keep Daytona Beach a safe area for tourists.
