STATE REPRESENTATIVE STATES BUDGET BLOATED WITH SPENDING
“Today I voted ‘No’ on the FY15 State Budget because I do not and cannot support a budget that continues to fund benefits to undocumented, illegal immigrants. The fact that the House and Senate have done nothing to address this issue only serves to perpetuate the problem. The citizens of Massachusetts are tired of footing the bill. Only recently, it was confirmed by the Worcester District Attorney …that Nicholas Guaman, an illegal immigrant responsible for the death of Matthew Denice, was receiving health insurance benefits paid for by Massachusetts taxpayers. As a result, I sent a letter on June 4, 2014 to Mass Health, questioning how this was possible. I have continued to question how widespread and expensive this issue is because the taxpayers of Massachusetts deserve answers!
Elected officials are ‘hired’ to represent their constituents’ interests. They represent hardworking people looking to provide for their families. As such, they deserve a Commonwealth that puts its citizens and legal immigrant community first; a Commonwealth that works with them rather than around them. They deserve a Commonwealth that does not raise taxes by $500 million as was done last year, to accommodate increased spending. They deserve a Commonwealth that does not create an automatic tax on its citizens by tying the price of gasoline to the inflation rate. They deserve a Commonwealth that frowns upon elected officials who accept taxpayer dollars to fill their gas tanks to get to Beacon Hill while constituents struggle to put gas in their own tanks. They deserve a Commonwealth that does not provide funding for instate tuition along with other public benefits to undocumented illegal immigrants.
As a two term State Rep, I have represented many of the communities across this district and have had numerous discussions with countless people during that time. The common thread is that things must change on Beacon Hill. The Massachusetts taxpayers can no longer shoulder the burden of an over-zealous spendthrift legislature. They cannot afford another straw on the camel’s back!”
