1)  We made the right decision when we got out of the hospital and airport business.  In fact we should be getting out of the parking lot, golf course and the property development business.  How have we done with:

  • South Worcester Industrial Park
  • May Street building
  • Mason Street lot
  • Union Station retail store fronts
  • Major Taylor Parking store front just cost a million to lease

Now we own a courthouse, that we were given $3,000,000 to take over from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.    Although $3,000,000 is alot of money, I can us burning through that very fast.   If this is a hug success, we need to split profits with the Commonwealth.   If it runs a huge loss, we own 100% of the loss?  Stay tuned.

 

2) July is going to a be a big month for the Worcester Strong Mayor Movement.

 

3) Lets hope we are on the Worcester Commons this Tuesday watching the World Cup.

 

4)  Main and Wellington updates.   It really fits in with the WPD video command center and Shotspotter.

 

5) Still can not get over $3,000,000 for Wayfarer sign system and don’t tell me it only cost $1,000,000 since the other $2,000,000 comes from the State.

 

6) Drove down Pleasant Street the other day, when there was little traffic, and took a left on South Olean.  Waiting for two seconds to get an opening traffic started backing up.  This is a nightmare!!  In September, traffic will be backed up past the Paxton town line.

 

7)  North Adams is broke.  We need to address our Pension and OPEB Liabilities aggressively or this can very easily be us.

 

8)  JetBlue is doing well at ORH, but based on the overhead they have there I just do not see how they can be making any money.  They will need to add more flights.   Really can see us getting an announcement during July & August.

 

9) Anyone notice alot of gas stations are not selling as anymore???   Gas station on Southbridge across from Polar and now Webster Square BP{ no longer selling gas.

 

10) Honey Farms downtown has closed.
