People are busy and getting downtown to attend these meetings is not exactly the easiest thing for concerned tax-paying citizens. You need to drive downtown, park, wait and then run the risk that the item is postponed. A very common tactic of petitioners when too much opposition shows up.
Here is an idea:
- Let concerned citizens register with a City Official, who will be attending the meeting in advance so that their identity can be confirmed.
- Confirmed citizens can watch from home and e-mail in their questions to the City Official who will be at the meeting who can then ask on their behalf.
Can you think of a better use of the Government Television Station then this??
