We can hide behind polls, consultant studies, commissions and who knows what else. The issue is very simple do we:
a) Keep the current City Manager form of governing that we have had since 1950
b) Switch to a Strong Mayor
Going through the process of charter change just to end with the voters of Worcester deciding whether the changes are accepted makes no sense to us.
Lets just go to a vote on the issue like we do any other issue and once and for all put it behind us. Let the voters of Worcester decide how they want their city to be run. We can not come up with one reason why the voters of Worcester deciding their own form of government does not make the most sense.
A vote on this issue is truly the only way to get this out in the public.
