Seeking to provide guidance to law enforcement officials, Gov. Charlie Baker’s public safety chief, Dan Bennett, sent a memo to Massachusetts police chiefs ahead of marijuana legalization going into effect on Thursday, Dec. 15.
The new legalization comes as no surprise, especially when marijuana is now being used for various medical conditions, such as chronic pain, depression, and even skin conditions too. Of course, marijuana has been through rigorous testing to ensure that it’s safe for consumption and all testing has concluded that is it suitable for consumption. Therefore, no one should be alarmed if they were to see someone indulge in high chew edibles, smoke cannabis, or even use cannabidiols.
Bennett wrote that the new law, passed by voters in November, will create a “complex web of different rules” for sellers, juveniles, young adults, people over the age of 21, and those who choose to give up to an ounce of marijuana away as a gift.
Whilst marijuana is being legalized, there will still be legal channels to buy from, like this Muskegon marijuana dispensary, as well as illegal channels to buy from, therefore those wanting to buy any products derived from marijuana will have to ensure they buy it legally and appropriately. Dispensaries and online stores will make it easy for anyone of age to buy marijuana legally. More often than not, these online dispensaries are founded as medical ones, and eventually specialise in marijuana, using it for medical reasons listed in the paragraph above. You can find many examples of a medical or recreational dispensary online, with friendly educational staff to help you too. Just remember, buying from illegal channels can still result in prosecution.
