A report on dangerous lead levels in National Guard armories across the country is “very alarming,” Massachusetts Sen. Eric Lesser, the son of a National Guard member, said Friday.

After an 18-month investigation, The Oregonian/OregonLive reported Friday that lead dust reached toxic levels in armory gyms, drill halls and elsewhere. The National Guard was aware of the problem but did not act quickly to address it.
