Before the New England Revolution play the Philadelphia Union tonight, know that going forward, if the Revs want to qualify for the play offs, that every game starting tonight is a MUST WIN. With 11 games left in the MLS season, there is still plenty of time to regain a winning form and qualify for the playoffs. But with the way this season has gone, and some of the types of performances we have seen, how confident are fans in the Revs ability to regain a winning form?

Currently the Revs sit 6th in the East standing, last playoff spot, but with 1 game played more than Orlando City who is equal with Revs on points, and 2 points ahead of DC United, also 1 game played more. Tonight’s opponent the Philly Union are 5th in the east, 5 points ahead of the Revs.

Just last month, the Revs were putting some good results together, wins against Chicago, Columbus, and Philly in the open cup all at home, with a road tie against Real Salt Lake mixed in. It was starting to feel like the Revs have finally figured things out on the pitch. But their most recent MLS results against Toronto and Orlando has really shot the confidence down of the fans. In those two games the Revs conceded 7 goals and only scored 2. They currently have the worst goal differential in the league at -11, with 29 goals scored, 40 goals against, in 23 matches played.

But with a win this week against the Chicago Fire in the USA Open cup semi-finals, moving on to the finals for the 3rd time in history, there is perhaps a glimmer of hope that the Revs can once again not only regain some confidence and a winning run, but a chance that the Revs can win some silverware for the season.
