MLS kicks off their twentieth season of existence, one of the original teams, our New England Revolution is one of them. MLS kicked off their twentieth season on Friday with the defending champions LA Galaxy defeating the Chicago Fire 2-0. Two new franchises start their inaugural season today, vs each other, Orlando city and their big star, Brazil’s Kaka, and New York City along with their big star, David Villa from Spain. This game will be played at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, has sold 62,000 tickets for this game! Think they are excited?? This game will be broadcasted on Skysports (uk) and ESPN Brazil. Here locally it will be on espn2.
As for the Revolution? Their season starts tonight, 930pm tonight, in Seattle. This game will be on Foxsports 1. In their only game versus each other last season, New England stomped on Seattle 5-0, who were the best team at that time. Jermaine Jones and Lee Nguyen both had surgery at the end of January, Jermaine is out for this game. Lee is questionable. If Lee isn’t 100% to go, he shouldn’t start this game. If neither can go, expect Daigo and Diego to get the starts. I also think Juan Agudelo will get the start as the lone forward. With AJ Soares in Norway, we will see Andrew Farrell slide from right back to center back. Against Seattle that might be a tough task to start the season for him. We do expect Diego Fagundez, now 20 years old and in his 5th season, to have a bounce back year. After losing his spot in the starting 11 last season, it will be tough to get back in, but he will have his chances.
