Yesterday the New England Revolution announced the signing of goalkeeper Cody Cropper on a free transfer. He is 23 years old, American born, represented the USA national team at U-20 for the U-20 2013 World Cup as first choice starter, 2015 Toulon tournament, and U-23 level for the 2016 Olympic qualifying. Up to this point, he played his whole career in England, first at Southampton without ever playing, then last season for MK Dons in the English Championship (2nd tier soccer) making his senior debut.

There are 10 games left this season. The Revs are trying to make a playoff push, but their results the last three MLS games have been atrocious, scoring 2 goals, conceding 11 losing all three games. It has been a rollercoaster of a season, losing multiple games in a row, then going on an unbeaten looking like they might finally go on a run, then drop multiple games in a row.

A goalie alone cant save this team or this season. There needs to be another player brought in, a central defender. New England has conceded the most goals this season, 44 goals in 24 matches. There is still time with the roster freeze date coming up.
