Worcester, Massachusetts, September 21, 2015 —
The Worcester Rotary Club is hosting a “Ghoulish” Glow Ball Tournament on October 30, 2015 at the Pine Ridge County Club in North Oxford to benefit targeted Service Fund efforts in the Greater Worcester community. The Worcester Rotary Service Fund traditionally supports education, health, hunger, disaster relief and beautification projects that benefit the Worcester community. Recent projects include the purchase of cameras for the neonatal unit at UMASS Memorial Hospital, support to create an E-book library for students at the Seven Hills Public Charter School and support for the Elm Park wooden bridge restoration project. Rotary International’s 2015 theme—“Be a Gift to the World” —challenges Rotarians to make a difference by renewing their commitment and welcoming those who have an interest in giving back and wish to join Rotary.
The day’s activities will begin with participants playing nine holes of golf from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and a silent auction. At 7:00 p.m., participants will return to the golf course to play nine holes in the dark. The cost is $125 per golfer and includes a prime rib dinner (dinner only is $40). Participation is limited to 60 golfers with registration on a first-come, first-served basis and all proceeds will go directly to the Service Fund. Sponsorships, purchase of hole signs ($75 each) or attending the dinner only are other ways someone can support the event.
