ARLINGTON – The young man who is suspected of using cyanide to commit suicide inside his Arlington home was identified by the area school superintendent as Jeremy Kremer-McNeil, according to a report by Channel 5 news.

The television station said the Arlington Public Schools superintendent Kathleen Bodie confirmed the 15-year-old sophomore from Arlington High School died.

“We extend to Jeremy’s family our deepest sympathy for their loss,” Bodie said in a statement released to media outlets. “Sometimes situations such as this are very difficult to process for some students.”

Authorities headed to a Rockmont Road home around 4 p.m. Friday to conduct a well-being check when they found a male dead in the basement, according to a police news release. Evidence found at the scene suggested the male used hazardous chemicals, possibly cyanide, to commit suicide.

Police officers and firefighters secured the scene while a hazardous material team responded. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is investigating the death along with Arlington Police.
