There are far too many factors to consider when breaking down the best places to watch a sporting event. What makes a stadium great? Is it capacity, crowd noise that makes a unleveled home field advantage, is it history or do you judge on the teams that play there? I really wanted to make a “top 5” list. There are so many worthy places to watch an epic sporting event; however, one place kept coming to mind over and over. I couldn’t deny it. So in respect to the great history Lambeau and the Pack have given us, they win 1 thru 5 on their own. Without having to even think about, I knew Lambeau had to top the list.
Opened in 1957 Lambeau quickly became one of the worst places to play football for anyone who wasn’t a Packer. Frozen temps and rowdy die hard “cheeseheads” make it a uncomfortable place for anyone to has to come into town. The history is rich but what really makes me tip my hat is whats happened in the last decade or so. Every week as a Pats fan I am willing to bet my life savings, my car, and if you got enough on the table I will throw in my soul. I never doubt the Patriots and I mean never.
When most fans were giving up in last seasons playoffs against the Ravens when the Patriots were down by 14 twice, I never for a second doubted a Pats victory. I was actually irate that the sports Hub 98.5 said that if you thought they were gonna come back, then you were lying, I wanted to call them up and let them have it for losing faith in Brady, but after weighing out my options I understood based on what they were saying they wouldn’t believe me. I never doubted them for one second. If there is one thing Tom Terrific has showed me it is you never, ever, ever, ever bet against Tom Brady. I blindly root for them despite the situation, and they have deserved that respect. I even believe the deflator meant a new weight loss program.
Once a season or so, something happens that shakes my resolve in my hometown team. That something is Aaron Rodgers and Lambeau Field. When the Pats lose to Aaron and company I don’t complain. I don’t make excuses. I tip my hat and say well played Cheesheads, well played. I’m with coach Belichick when he said “there is no qb I’d rather have than Tom Brady”. I agree Bill, but god forbid something happens and Tom decides its time to retire, get Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has proved to be the only qb who can go toe to toe with the great one.
