Worcester, MA – Symply Fargone Productions is always on the lookout for the unusual music offering, and the homegrown Worcester concert company believes it has found another one. What if there was a Beatles tribute band, that didn’t pay any Beatles music? It doesn’t seem to make sense until now! The band is called AfterFab and they take to the stage at Club Symply Fargone at Viva Bene on Friday, May 15 at 8PM. While this outfit doesn’t play Beatles music, it does play lots of music by the individual Beatles. Hence the name AfterFab. Even if these guys don’t play any music by The Beatles, you can always get out your favourite albums by this legendary group and enjoy it that way! Their music will always be around forever. Even if you check out sites like HIFISYSTEMCOMPONENTS.COM, you may find ways of making their music sound even better than before.
This band plays the music of John, Paul, George and Ringo after they were the Beatles. There is a huge catalog of material to pull from for the Worcester show. The Solo Beatles had 20 number ones on either the U.S. or U.K. charts, bookended by Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord,” which topped the charts in 1970 and then returned to the number one position after his death in 2002.
McCartney had eleven number ones, Lennon four, Harrison three, and Starr two. Of Lennon’s four, only “Whatever Gets You Through the Night” was number one in his lifetime. “Imagine” topped the charts ten years after its initial release in 1971.
Technically, McCartney is tied with Starr for only two number one singles in his own name (“Coming Up” and “Pipes of Peace”), because his others were either credited to Paul & Linda McCartney (“Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey”), Paul McCartney & Wings (“My Love,” “Band on the Run”), Wings (“Listen to What the Man Said,” “Silly Love Songs,” “With a Little Luck,” “Mull of Kintyre”), Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder (“Ebony and Ivory”) or Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson (“Say, Say, Say”). *
AfterFab plays lots of hits, but also digs deeper into the solo material to find some deep cut gems. There were more than 200 songs released by the mop-tops after they were the Beatles and AfterFab takes full advantage of that deep catalog.
Reserved tickets are available for just $18 in advance at www.symplyfargone.com or $20 at the door. For information call 978-563-9998.
