The Worcester High School Crew Team is hosting an indoor rowing event on Sunday, March 29 at the Central Community Branch of the YMCA, 766 Main St, Worcester, Ma, to help raise money for the team.
The team needs to fundraise $ 12,000 every year. The money raised from the indoor rowing event will be used to purchase varsity jackets for the athletes on the team that cannot afford them, help buy new equipment, and to repair and maintain our current equipment.
- Individuals will be erging a 2,000 meter course and will be broken into age groups (high school: 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, open: 20-25, and masters: 26-35, 36-49, 50-59, and 60 and over).
- Teams, made up of 6 people, will each be erging a 2,000 meter course and their times combined for a final score.
- The team events will be broken into recreational (one row), open (the top 6 will move onto finals), and competitive (the top 12 will move onto semi-finals and 6 will move onto finals).
The cost for individuals to enter before March 21 $35 and $50 after. Team entries are $150. Registration and donor packets are available online at worcrc.com.
