So I decided I am going to Orlando this May to see the Revs take on Orlando city in MLS action, not as a reporter for the Herald, but as a fan.new england revolution The schedule was released last week, and I had my eye on the match vs Orlando, which is set for Friday May 8, 8pm kickoff. When it was announced that Orlando would get a MLS team for 2015, I knew I had to go and travel with jetBlue out of Worcester. Do my part to help support traffic out of the airport.

When it was announced jetBlue would fly out of Worcester, many people knew (those who understand air travel and pricing) that prices would most likely be higher out of ORH due to less seats available and high demand. For some, the issue of price (those who don’t understand what effects airline prices) was a reason NOT to fly ORH, because prices out of Providence or Boston would be lower for the most part. So I decided to look at the prices out of Bradley Airport (Hartford) Boston and Providence with jetBlue on the days I can travel and leaving enough time for kick off. All comparisons are direct flights and on the same days. I will have to do some schedule changes at work to make this work so my dates or NOT flexible! Here was my result:

  • ORH: $323 depart 5/8 11:40am eta to Orlando 2:35pm 8pm kickoff
  • Boston $341 lowest prices found for round trip
  • Providence $292 this was actually the cheapest flight I found! 3:20 departure eta to Orlando is 6:17 pm (8pm kickoff, return flight only had 4 seats left and is 8:35pm departure)
  • Hartford $319 this actually isn’t the cheapest out of Hartford, but the cheapest flight down was after 7pm, too late
