Gift local this holiday season by shopping stART at the Station
WORCESTER MA – November 22, 2014 – stART on the Street brings its 9th annual gifting-themed arts and crafts festival to Worcester’s Union Station at 2 Washington Square on Sunday, December 7, from 11 – 5pm.
A special preview from 9:00am – 11am is available for a $15 admission, which comes with coffee, a baked treat, a reusable shopping tote and shopping with lighter crowds. Entrance after 11am is free, though donations to help stART remain a free event are welcome.
As with all stART events, artists and crafters create only handmade goods. Wares range from textiles, pottery, stained glass, and fine jewelry to photography, pet wares, holiday cards, ornaments and so much more.
stART Co-Director Tina Zlody says, “we continue our yearly holiday tradition of bringing the arts and fine crafts to beautiful Union Station. With last year’s successful expansion to the back concourse, we will continue to offer an even greater variety of handmade work to choose from. “stART at the Station will host 130 artists this year and with so many artists and crafters in one place, it’s easy to support the local economy and buy handmade!
Union Station’s restaurants will offer a full bar and a light menu during the event. Luciano’s Cotton Club, inside Union Station’s Grand Hall, will also host a football lounge, so shoppers won’t have to choose between buying local and watching football. Remember folks, the Patriots have a night game so there’s plenty of time to shop.
Parking is available for $1 at the Union Station garage and free in municipal lots, and there is an ATM on site. Coat check will also be available in the lobby.
stART at the Station is sponsored in part by the WOO card, be sure to stop by the Cultural Coalition table and swipe your card for double WOO points. Volunteers are still needed so visit stARTontheStreet.org to sign up.
