Central Massachusetts Long Range Transportation Plan

Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission is kicking off the “Mobility2040” –Long Range Transportation Plan for the Central Massachusetts region by seeking feedback on transportation priorities such as congestion, freight, mobility2040 logo copytransit, roadway maintenance, walk/bike, etc.   This effort is to better understand the transportation investment priorities for Central Massachusetts over the next 25 years. CMRPC is undertaking this effort on behalf of the Central Massachusetts Metropolitan Planning Organization (CMMPO). The CMMPO, comprised of locally-elected and state officials, sets regional transportation policy and determines where to allocate federal funds.
Please visit our website and take a brief survey about your vision and priorities for the region. Here you can learn more about the plan, watch a video, and keep up-to-date on information meetings and materials. Also, you can follow the plan on twitter @mobility2040 or e-mail your comments to [email protected]. Upcoming meeting dates and locations will be posted on the Mobility2040 website. Planners and commuters have long known that a region’s highway and mass transit network, as well as its system of sidewalks and bike facilities have a huge impact on quality of life. CMRPC continues to work toward helping to create more livable communities in the central Massachusetts region that have efficient transportation links to reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and increase safety.

Your comments can help CMRPC’s planners to develop a wide-ranging, action-oriented transportation plan. The “Mobility2040” plan being developed also will serve as a basis for allocating limited federal money aimed at roadways, bridges, and public transportation facilities.
