Summer is just around the corner. Don’t know what to do yet? Well lets talk ideas. Camps are a great way to stay active, learn something, and make new friends! Worcester Academy offers a great variety of summer camps for children of all ages! For example, they have sports, science, theater and much more…WORCESTER ACADEMY CAMPS! Most of the programs run 1-2 weeks for a full day. But Worcester Academy isn’t the only one in Worcester so look around and find your favorite one. Try searching “summer camps in Worcester” and you will find a great deal of resources.
This time of year is also a great time to hang out with your friends. Its one of the only times where you can see your friends as much as possible. If you are looking for something to do try going to a camp, run a road race, or even take a class together. Here is a great website that tells you the names of places you can go in the summer.
The summer is a great time to spend quality time with your family. For example, you could look for river tube rentals and combine that with a little camping trip, or you could organize a movie night at home. Believe it or not, you will feel really happy that you spend time with your family. Remember that your parents will really appreciate it that you planned a family activity. Hint: you can even start planning them now.
Summertime is also a great time to make cash. Say there is a bike you really want so you can ride to your friends house without asking your parents to drive. But it costs $200!!! Start your own business to make money. You can start a dog walking business, a daycare …. that’s only half of the business ideas. You could even make flyers and post them on social media or put them up at your town center. I guarantee that you will make a ton of $! Starting a business is also a great thing to do with your friends as well.
Who knows, this small business that you decide to set up in the summer months to earn a bit of extra cash could turn into a full-time responsibility if you play your cards right. Many entrepreneurs start their businesses without realizing the endless possibilities that lay in front of them, and being a business owner full time starts to become more appealing. With that being said, it is much harder than just sticking up flyers in your area, as you need to think about where you’re going to find the money to start your business in the first place, as well as how to handle it going forward. Thankfully, places like Early Growth and their accounting for startups service, (https://earlygrowthfinancialservices.com/accounting-for-startups/) can offer great advice and guidance when it comes to making this possible, especially if this is something that you really want to do. So, if you’re going to start a business in the summer months, if you put your mind to it, it could turn out to be something that you do for the rest of your life.
Last but not least, you could volunteer. Sounds like lots of work right? NO its not. You could volunteer at your library and read to the kids, help out with a local charity, feed the homeless, or maybe sell things to benefit your favorite charities. For example, I volunteer with the non-profit organization Children’s Smile Coalition. They help underprivileged children. We have a book and can drive coming up in May! There is also a clothing drive in August. If you’d like to help just email them. You could also consider ordering some custom wristbands no minimum order necessary. Selling these and then giving the money to a charity of your choice is a very generous way to help others who might not be as lucky as you. Don’t forget to ask your parents for more ideas on how you can volunteer and make a difference in the community.
