Although the JetBlueBestFareFinder site does not give us an exact picture of the ticket sales, it does give us a pretty good guesstimate.

Embraer 190, current plane out of ORH (25 rows of 4 seats)

Embraer 190 is the current current plane that services  ORH (25 rows of 4 seats)

The next three days (Jan 12-13-14), the following number of seats are available:

  • Orlando    11-10-7 =28
  • Fort Lauderdale    27-18-9 =   54
  • Total available 82
  • Total number of seats 600
  • Load equals 86%

This continues to be a good factor, although this does not force JetBlue to consider the larger Airbus (25 rows of 6 seats=150 seats), which would down the ticket prices and make ORH more competitive.     If you are considering a flight out of Worcester, the best and quickest place to find a flight is the JetBlueBestFinder site.

Here are some hot fares

  • Worcester-Orlando: January 27 – 28                                 $104
  • Worcester- Fort Lauderdale:    January 25-26-27           $110
  • Orlando-Worcester:  February 4  February 10-11                $89
  • Fort Lauderdale-Worcester:      February 5-6   February 12      $104

The past week has been a good week with all flights getting in and out, although we have had 3 days where nothing came in or out due to fog over the past month.    Overall, however, we have seen few cancellations this winter season with the schedule changes that tries to avoid early morning and late night activity at ORH when fog is at its worst.    As we have mentioned many problems this problem will be resolved when CAT III is installed, although it can not happen soon enough.    Please no mention of access roads or name changes, lets just get CAT III up and running as soon as possible!!!

Before we start getting complaints about how expensive tickets are from people trying to book a flight to Florida for February vacation, let us take this opportunity to explain that we only have 100 seats each day to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale and it may be too late to book now.   If you  go to the JetBlue site right now and try to get a flight to Orlando for February 14-15, the prices will be in excess of 600 or Fort Lauderdale the prices will be in excess of 400.   They may be just as high in Boston, Providence and Hartford??    This does not mean we are uncompetitive, just that the seats are already sold out.   It is called Supply & Demand.

Bottom line sales are still strong at ORH, but we need CAT III to see expansion of services.
