It is never easy going on the road and trying to get any results, especially against western conference teams. The New England Revolutions recent matches against Real Salt Lake in Utah were not pretty. With RSL unbeaten home record, the Revs with only 1 win away from Foxboro, and points at a premium just to keep up with the last playoff spot, a tie was a good result for New England.

Even though RSL did have more dangerous scoring chances, forcing Bobby Shuttleworth to work more than his counterpart, who was more of an observer, New England also had their share of attacks and situations. In one situation for RSL, Shuttleworth made a good save, with the rebound cleared off the line by Lee Nguyen.

In fact it was New England who had a goal called back. Kei Kamara thought he had a goal, but was called back when the assistant referee spotted a foul committed by Kei Kamara, when he made accidental contact with a defender, allowing him the space he had.
