I have met some world travelers the past couple of days. One guy travels the country doing tech jobs as an independent contractor. I met another guy who was taking a train to Philadelphia because it was cheaper, more comfortable and took the same amount of time as flying. I ask him if he had somewhere he called home,he told me he’s divorced and his “home base is Atlanta”, he added since January he has slept in his own bed about ten times. Today I met a woman from the UK who flies on Monday to whatever country she is needed and goes home every Friday. These people travel light, I believe the UK woman keeps a hotel room (this week in Boston) that she keeps what she needs for her week here spending the nights there. It’s an interesting lifestyle for those who choose to not put down roots. To me it sounds romantic, but then I enjoy sleeping next to my wife nightly, so the lone traveler really isn’t my choice in life.
