IMAG0538IMAG0541In Holliston Mass at Anthony’s On The Green The Holliston Republican Town Committee held the first Massachusetts Straw Poll of the 2016 Presidential Election. Led by Holliston’s RTC Chairman Marty Lamb committee members and guests were able to cast ballots for their preferred candidate. Scott Walker won over 75% of the vote.

The guest speaker of the evening was Republican State Rep. Shaunna O’Connell. Shauna was very excited to be back serving after her 63% win in 2014 in a heavily Democratic District. Far cry from just winning her first election by 31 votes. Shaunna spoke to the members about how appreciative she was of the hard work and dedication from grass roots groups like The Tea Party and the local RTC’s.

Shaunna also reminded us that the work is far from finished. There is still a $1.8 billion gap in the budget, EBT reform is constantly shuffled down the pile by Democrats (her legislation), Private contract law needs to be reformed, Shaunna is proposing a Small Business Bill of Rights and will work to halt the licensing to drive of Illegals. Something you know the Democrats will push.

After all, with the Motor Voter Laws in place how else will they get to register their constituency?

Representative O’Connell is the #1 target of the Democratic led House and Senate on Bacon Hill. She and Geoff Diehl have personally experienced first hand the political shenanigans that ocurr regularly at the State House. Geoff was told to drop the whole idea of Question 1. He was told it would never get anywhere; that he would never get the signatures. Shaunna was there when the leadership changed the rules of tenure for the Speaker of The House. This way DeLeo can avoid indictment (the 4th speaker) while he serves out his party appointed, life term. Shaunna told the Holliston RTC about an Amendment she proposed to get the votes put online for the public to see. As she took to the podium to officially announce her Amendment the Chair suddenly called a recess. After a little while they resumed the session and out trot the Democratic leaders with the same exact Amendment only with THEIR names on it. That, and the closed door committee meetings, no reporters allowed in the Chamber and no debates as Bills are voted on and passed are just a few of the daily chicaneries that define the Democratic Party in Massachusetts.

It will be nothing short of a God given miracle if Charlie Baker can get anything done as Governor.

RTC Chairman Marty Lamb granted M&P a short on camera interview to discuss his work on the Question 1 Ballot Initiative.
