It was hot. The room was soon filled and it just got hotter. But on August 30th over 13 candidates showed up with food, staff and a good sense of belonging to an event in the making since May. It was A Candidate’s Symposium!.

Boston Broadside Newspaper showed up and snapped away. The write up is in their paper. (link here) Dave Kopazc from his show Red Pill Politics joined the moderator’s panel and launched his show after hours to close out the night. (link here) Meat And Potatoes hosted the show and opened it with the pledge and the first question to the seated guests.

Mark Fisher was the only Gubernatorial Candidate who signed on and showed up. Many repeated invitations went out to Charlie Baker, Mark McCormick and Evan Falchuck as well as the Democratic Candidates. None of them responded.

With a few technical snafus we managed to have 2016 Presidential Candidate John Albert Dummett Jr calling in from California on Skype who lent his ultra right constitutional take on the state of our Republic. It was a stellar evening!

The conversation swung far and wide from illegals to Child Protective Services, election fraud and our one party system here in Massachusetts. Each of the candidates gave pointed and definitive answers to each question posed by the moderators and the audience. There was no hint of run around in answering any of the questions… Refreshing!

Well, it is The Meat And Potatoes Show..

Dan Fishman, Bob Underwood and Matt Fectau were the only representatives of the Libertarian Party. Their answers were direct. These guys don’t mess around where our liberty and freedom is concerned. Brad Wyatt, candidate for State Rep. opened his fourth floor Liberty Clubhouse for this event and he was warmly thanked for his generosity. Jackie Kostas, candidate for state Rep as well reminded us all of the creeping Socialism taking over the country. She knows first hand from growing up in Peru during the revolutions of the seventies.

As with all of these events it was long yet at the same time way too short. There was just not enough time to address all the issues and we did have to take a break halfway through to refresh. It was not until well after 10 pm that Dave Kopazc started up his Red Pill Politics Show in an adjacent room with members of STOP COMMON CORE FORUM. The interviews included a Q+A session from audience members about what CC is and stories of parent’s own experiences with government take over of our education.

The candidates stayed well into the evening to shake hands, photo ops and to thank me for putting on the event. I considered it a successful evening because of the amount of people who showed up to participate. I want to thank Brad Wyatt, Russell Taub (he brought beer), my family and staff at M&P2012 and all the candidates and audience members. More photos can be viewed on my show page at the link here.
