Our Ace Photographer/Reporter, Rich Prager, has produced yet another excellent set of images – this time, from today’s Luncheon Meeting at Coral Seafood. Click here to view his photos.

Among those shown is the keynote speaker, Keith Harris, who’s bicycling across America to raise money for the Rotary Foundation. Click here to learn about Keith and his journey.

Today’s speaker, Keith Harris, is a Rotarian from Ipswich. He told the inspiring story of how he overcame serious medical problems and trained to embark on a cross-country bike ride from Seattle, back to Ipswich. He stopped at our Club today on the last leg of this journey, having spoken at nine Rotary Clubs in the past six days. He is trying to raise $25,000 for the Rotary Foundation. He wants the money to be used to help children and communities in underdeveloped parts of the world that do not have access to clean water.

  • Amy Mosher updated the Club on the results of the August 12 Service Project Committee, which she chairs, meeting at President Dave Frazier’s office.
  • Both Vice President Bob Mangan and Dave Frazier asked for volunteers for the upcoming Worcester Rotary booth at the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Business Expo, to ber held on August 8 at the DCU Center.
  • Bob Mangan and Ken Harling, who are organizing the Business Expo booth, asked for golfers to play in another upcoming – and really fun – event. It’s the Glo Ball Golf Outing, which will be scheduled for the beginning of October.
  • Bob Johnson collected Happy Dollars, and one person – Satya Mitra – was fined in abstentia for the great T&G article about his son, Alingon Mitra, who will be performing on “Last Comic Standing,” which airs tonight at 9:00 on NBC, Channel 7. He will be making his Comic Comeback with a performance in the two-hour season finale.

Our next weekly Luncheon Meeting is on Thursday, August 21 at 12:00 noon at Coral Seafood, located at 225 Shrewsbury St. Cost is $18 per person for both members and non-members. Raffle tickets are $2 for one or $7 for four. Free parking available. Handicapped accessible.

Best wishes,
