With the world cup just weeks away, and the end of the European season, there is no shortage of rumors of big money transfers.    As I am writing this the biggest news is probably Chelsea’s David Luiz and a 50 million pound move to France’s PSG, but until I see the press conference with the player holding his new team jersey, its all just a rumor.    Expect a lot of the big money moves I think after the World Cup, where some of these players will use the world cup as a showcase of their talents.    But there is plenty of rumors involving MLS teams, Americans and even in the last 24 hours, the New England Revolution.

Didier Drogba has been linked to MLS for years now, including the Revolution, before signing with a team in China in 2012.    At the time New England Revolution president Brian Bilello wrote on Twitter,   “Re: Drogba, we were involved with the MLS discussions earlier this year.   Always interested when a player like that is potentially available.”    He is Available again this summer and rumor is Seattle is trying to sign him.

In 2015, Orlando will have their inaugural season in MLS  (how convenient JetBlue flies from Worcester Airport to Orlando) and are trying to sign AC Milan’s Brazilian duo Kaka and Robinho;  however, recent reports indicate he will not be leaving Milan.   He is under contract until 2015 so it is possible Orlando could sign him, just not till after June.   But Robihno?    Sky Sport Italia in the last 24 hours reported that along with Orlando, Besiktas (Turkey), Flamengo (Brazil) and the New England Revolution too have interest in signing the Brazilian.    Robinho, 31, has a contract with Milan until 2016, so any deal would have to include a transfer fee, highly doubt Milan would just mutually terminate his contract.

Another possible move is Oriol Rosell, of Kansas City to the team I support in Portugal, Sporting Lisbon (Lions).    Rosell, turning 22 later this summer, is from Spain, a former Barcelona youth academy graduate and “B” team player is in his 3 MLS season. A starter for Kansas City and part of the championship side from last season.
